Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) • OT is continuing with the development of a support system for teacher and student achievement in areas of: • Retention • Completion • Industry Certification/ Licensure • Job/ Career Placement Components of the MTSS • Intervention Team • Reading Coach • Data Team Purpose: Focus on student achievement in attaining their individual goals.
Systems used by leadership Team • Measures to monitor MTSS and SIP: • Reading coach: Help to support reading across content areas • Professional Development sessions • Professional Learning Communities • Chairpersons’ Meetings: Address curriculum, instruction and student achievement issues • Data Meetings
Dual Enrollment and Adult StudentsIndividualized Intervention Plan • Developed a computer based monitoring system • This system will identify how well student is progressing • Track student progress • Identify if additional intervention is needed • Monitor: No change, improvement, revise intervention strategy if indicated
Monitoring the Effectiveness of this Strategy • New database will collect data and analyze for effectiveness. • Notices will be sent to students, teachers and parents to update progress • Reassessment/ utilization of other strategies if not progressing • Remediation Team • Provide after school remediation and/or on-line monitoring • Task is to assess student program, provide student, teachers and parents with periodic updates on remediation progression or initiate other strategies to ensure success

Mid Year Remediation Results • There were 124 Dual Enrollment Students who participated in the on-line remediation program to improve FCAT and TABE scores • Forty-eight (48) of the 124 (39 %) have completed remediation and passed all areas of the TABE as of mid-year. • Fifteen Dual Enrollment Students have received Industry Certifications during the first semester
Extended Learning Programs • Strategy Description • On-line after school student remediation in improve TABE and FCAT scores • Supervised working electronic/ digital student center • Adequate supplies for extended home study • Field trip opportunities • Monetary compensation for online instructional hours after regular duty day • Provide “Real World” simulation • Dual Enrollment Students: More teacher, student, parent communication • Skills USA involvement
Parent Involvement • Fifty three (53) Parents participated in OT Fall Open House • Nineteen (19) Parents attended our first CTE Saturday • Spring Parent/ New Student Information Session – Date TBA

Literacy Leadership Team Initiatives for Spring 2014 • Purpose: Improve basic reading, reading across content, increase LCPs/ OCPs attainment. Increase completion and GED attainment. • Establishment of a Library in individual classrooms • Compiled Literacy websites • GED teachers help to increase GED attainment • Develop a Scholastic book fair on campus: Research options
College and Career Readiness • Established a Career Services Department • Career Services Specialist: Provides individual assistance and classroom presentations on: Post-secondary options, employability skills, and relevant community resources. • Career Pathways: Provides new GED students with career planning resources including Florida CHOICES, Financial Aid, Tech Center tours • Perfect Interview • CS specialist serves on community boards specific to career attainment • Remediation courses • Clinical Sites: Real world experiences • Parent meetings for duals
