  1. PA Dutch 101 Video 8: Irregular Verbs. Verbs, die net normal sin.

  2. Verbs and Conjugation • As you learned in our last video, all verbs conjugate in PD. • We covered the two rules when conjugating verbs: • 1. Drop the –E • 2. Add the ending.

  3. Irregular Verbs • There are some verbs in English that do not follow normal conjugation rules: • to be: • I am, You are, He is, We are etc. • This is a prime example of an Irregular Verb in English. • In PD there are multiple Irregular Verbs too. • They don’t follow the normal rules, so their conjugations should be memorized.

  4. hawwe – to have

  5. sei – to be

  6. griege – to get

  7. geh – to go

  8. Irregular Verbs • As you can see with these four irregular verbs, their conjugations are different from our previously stated rules. • Please memorize these verbs! • Hawwe and Sei will be used a lot in future videos!

  9. Iewing - Practice • Conjugate the verbs for sentences given! • Mir ___ (gehe) nooch die Karrich. • Mir gehnenooch die Karrich. • _____ (hawwe) du en Katz? • Hoscht du en Katz? • Dihr ____ (sei) arriggscheit. • Dihrseidarriggscheit. • Die Jessica ____ (griege) en neieMaschien. • Die Jessica grickten neieMaschien.
