Different Types of Irrigation Valves and Water Timers If you are new to the world of irrigation or you have never really used a valve in your watering system for the garden in your house, then you might not know the number and types of irrigation valves available in the market. There are a lot of irrigation valves available for you and they are as discussed below –

  2. The emergency shut off valves – This valve should be installed at the closest point possible to your water source, that is, the location where you tap in for the irrigation system. Without this valve you will need to shut off the water to the entire house when you want to work on the mainline or irrigation valves. Irrigation control valves – These valves can turn the sprinklers on and off on its own. There are plenty of options available here for you – the solenoid valves, sprinkler valves, irrigation solenoid valves, lawn valves, etc.

  3. Isolation valves – This kind of valve isolates the irrigation system from the main water supply when closed. When this valve is open, water from the main supply line enters the irrigation system. The isolation valve is closed for winterization. In an in-line irrigation system, this valve is usually located underground near the meter. In an above-ground system, it is usually located indoors or above ground near the point where the main water line exits a structure. Different kinds of water timers – There are different types of water timers available in the market just like the irrigation valves. They can be termed as –

You possibly cannot go ahead and take care of your watering system every now and then that hampers your garden to a great extent. The digital water timers can help you get rid of the trouble as it can determine whether or not to water your garden. Rain water timers – You can also find several water timers that can be attached to rain water barrels or other collection points. This can help you save money when watering your garden. Rain water timers are most likely to be digital, as they need to have sensors included which can determine when the water is ready to be used.
