Update on Activities • 1st SEAGF Meeting hosted by Singapore on 8 Feb 2006 • Attended by 20 delegates from Malaysia (2), Singapore (14) & Thailand (4) • 1 delegate from Germany & 1 from Taiwan • 2nd SEAGF Meeting held on 19 May 2006, as part of GridAsia 2006 (in Singapore) • Attended by Malaysia, Singapore & Thailand • Agreed to focus on 6 areas • Bioinformatics, Cheminformatics, Interactive Digital Media • Access Grid & Testbed, Digital Libraries & Archives, Middleware • Ongoing discussions via wiki & Access Grid • 3rd SEAGF Meeting will be held in Sep 2006, in Bangkok (Thailand)

Focus Area:Interactive Digital Media • Project (A): Rendering Grid • Brief Description • Involves grid resources from geographically different sites, performing digital media rendering. • The rendering software used could be POV-Ray, mental ray, or other open-source software. • Objective • To perform rendering across resources in Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand (and any other interested sites) • Completion Criteria • To be able to seemlessly perform a rendering job across the resources through the web portal.
