  1. Machine of Insanity By Scott

  2. Awakened You wake up dizzily on top of an operation table in a brightly lit tiled room, remembering that you and 5 others were excavating a German Scientific Research Bunker in Northwest Russia before blacking out and ending up here. While slowly rising from the table, you begin to wonder where you are and what happened to the other diggers. The only way to answer these questions is to explore this discomforting environment. Once arisen and focused, you see a metallic door and an intercom speaker with a red button attached to it directly across from you. Open the Door? Press the Red Button?

  3. Opening the Door You slowly pace yourself towards the door and open it to reveal a long corridor resembling a 1940’s German bunker. This might be the very bunker you and the other excavators were looking for, but the operation room seemed as if it didn’t age at all and there was still no sign of the excavators. There must be some explanation to this somewhere in the bunker, and with that thought you continue through the corridor until you come across a threshold on the left wall. Enter Threshold? Continue Through the Corridor?

  4. Pressing the Red Button The sound of a siren wailing echoes from the speaker. Confused, you decide to leave the speaker before a high pitched screech comes across it, blasting the speaker out and making you fall over, rendering you unconscious. You then wake up in a dimly lit room that resembled a 1940’s German bunker barracks. As you begin to stand up, you feel a sharp pain in your right leg and fall over. You examine your leg to see what caused the pain and, to your surprise, you see markings made by some metal clamping to your leg for a long period time. You then wonder “What could’ve made these on my leg?” and begin to stand back up, ignoring the now lesser pain in your leg. You then see a threshold leading to a corridor, but feel as if there’s more to this room. Enter Corridor? Explore More of the Room?

  5. Entering the Threshold With the room being barely visible, you try your best to keep your hand on the left wall of the room. Eventually, you feel a large panel with a switch and pull it. The lights begin to glow in a dim, ominous way. What you see in the room horrifies you. 5 pedestals with a jar of a brain on each stand in front of you, each having a plaque of the names of the 5 other diggers that were with you during the expedition. As you see this horrific, evil discovery, you fall over on the ground repeating the words “This isn’t real, this can’t be true!” and slowly drift into the realm of insanity. The End. Back to the Beginning

  6. Continuing Through the Corridor You find a room containing a small table, a ladder, and documents scattered across the floor. You pick up the one document lying on the table, reading: “October 3rd, 1947 Ever since our newly-created construction machines malfunctioned, we’ve lost connection to the outside world and are dwindling in numbers. They seem to be harvesting the brains of our researchers to dissect. It doesn’t make sense, why would they try to kill us? It doesn’t matter anymore, these machines will hunt anything they see, and I fear they’ll see me next. So, in order to escape, I’ve dug a hole to the surface. I don’t care what happens if they’re let loose, I just need t-“ The rest of the page is ripped. Horrified, you hurry up the ladder, open the hatch covering the exit, and run, feeling relieved to feel the cold snow of the Russian land. As you finally leave the bunker, you take a sigh of relieve that this nightmare is over. The End. Back to Beginning

  7. Entering the Corridor You walk out of the bunker and into the long corridor. You then think that this might be the very bunker you and the other excavators were looking for, but the operation room seemed as if it didn’t age at all, the barracks seemed as if a massacre took place there, and there was still no sign of the excavators. There must be some explanation to this somewhere in the bunker, and with that thought you continue through the corridor until you come across a threshold on the left wall. Enter Threshold? Continue Through Corridor?

  8. Exploring More of the Room You inspect the walls and see scratches from what seems to be a knife or a sword. You then look at the blood-stained bunk beds and find schematics to a form of machine. Questions begin to arise, “How could they have made this? Were they still functional after all these years? Were these the things the ones who dragged you to this very bunker?” You begin to become dizzy, realizing that these machines could have killed the other excavators and are now trying to kill you. Then, the sound of cogwheels moving and steam leaking fill the silence of the room. You frantically look around the room to find an alternative exit, but you begin to feel an unimaginable pain in your back. Your life then ends to the sound of gears turning. The End Back to Beginning
