Research Question Will a school-wide Numeracy Campaign change the school’s attitudes toward math and improve understanding?
What is Numeracy? How we use math in the real world. You would never be proud to say, “I can’t read.” So why is it ok to say, “I don’t do math”?

Pi Day! • March 14th (3.14) • T-shirt contest • Mu Alpha Theta has sold pie since 1999 • $1, goes to senior math scholarships • Pi posters in the hallways (Pi-Thon, Apple-Pi) • Classroom activities: discover where pi comes from, sit in circle, write on paper plates, unit circle activities… • Yearbook page dedicated to who could memorize the most digits (07-08) • Oklahoman came and wrote an article

Math Analysis Enrollment(pre-calculus with trigonometry) • More students are taking higher level mathematics.
Number of AP Calculus Tests taken (only one section taught till 2008 and having 3 sections 2010-11)
Conclusion • We hope using and posting math vocabulary and having activities and celebrations will improve attitudes towards math, understanding of the vocabulary and improve problem solving. • We have seen improvement in Teachers’ and Students Attitudes toward math, Math EOI scores and math participation.
