  2. What are plantations? • Plantations are large farms where African Americans worked as slaves to plant crops.

  3. What are slaves? • Slaves are African Americans that were forced to work for whites.

  4. Which states have slaves? • Southern states had slaves, including Virginia and North Carolina

  5. What crop do the slaves grow? • Slaves grow rice, okra, Tania, black-eyed peas, guined melon, and yams.

  6. How were male slaves treated? • Male slaves were treated bad; they had to plant crops and carry logs and do most of the outside work.

  7. How girls were treated • Girls were treated bad but not bad as the boys, they had to was dishes, clean the rooms and wash clothes.

  8. How were slaves bought and sold? • Slaves were sold by their owners that have a lot of slaves. They were bought by other white people. Slaves were sold for 50 to 100 coins.
