  2. ¿Quées? La Navidad in Chile is the Christmas celebration. Since most Chileans are Roman Catholic, many of their traditions are related to the coming of Jesus. Several of their traditions are very similar to those of Christians in the United States.

  3. Celebraciones The celebration starts with the novena before Christmas day. This is a nine day period that focuses on prayer and preparation before the Lord came to Earth. As with other Christmas celebrations in different countries, family is very important during this season.

  4. Celebraciones On Christmas Eve, Chileans finalize their preparations and attend the midnight mass. It is during this time that ViejitoPascuero, also known as Papa Noel, comes to houses in his sleigh to deliver gifts. After a large family dinner that evening, the children are allowed to unwrap these presents.
