Important Information – CRN# • You are encouraged to check out the CRN# for classes • Valuable information can be found by clicking on the CRN# for any class: • Location, days, times class meets on campus • Prerequisites • Method of instruction • Required fees, field experience hours, etc… • Notes specific to the course • Link to view the catalog entry for the course
GPA is Very Important! • 3.0 cumulative GPA is a prerequisite for the following courses: • EDEL 445/446 Literacy Block • EDEL 450 Math and Social Studies Methods • EDEL 453/454 Student Teaching • Consider course repeat if needed
ESL Information • ESL concentration requires • Document language background Contact lilian.cibils@unco.edu • Take PLACE Test for ESL Endorsement but not prior to student teaching
Reading Minor • It is easy to add a reading minor with the following courses: • EDRD 314 (required for ISET major) • EDRD 319 (required for ISET major) • EDRD 340 • EDRD 410 (option in the language arts concentration) • EDRD 411 (prerequisite – EDRD 410) • One of the following: • COMM 223 (option for area 7 – LAC) • COMM 350 • EED 342
EDFE 120 Registration • Registration for EDFE 120: • Semester prior to the Practicum Block • Even if you do not presently have the required GPA (3.0), but anticipate you might
EDEL 445/446Request For Literacy Practicum Placement • Register for EDFE 120 semester prior to practicum • Placement requires a Cumulative GPA of 3.0 • Completed or currently enrolled in EDEL 350 • Proof of registration for PLACE or PRAXIS II • Partner Schools need: • Resume- Check Career Services website for assistance • One-page letter to cooperating teacher • ** Preference for placements are NOT guaranteed
