Updates • Initiation of the Open Academy for Philippine Agriculture – DA, DOST, UPOU, other state universities and colleges, IRRI, ICRISAT • Technology and information services for agriculture extension workers and farmers • Will use FITS Centers (currently more than 100 nationwide) • Will use existing network infrastructure – PREGINET and DA-NIN, also commercial ISPs • Hybrid rice; later corn, sugarcane, coconut, vegetables and rootcrops

  5. Updates • Upgrade of MAFFIN link to 6Mbps by November this year
