  2. Some people just don’t care if they litter or not. It’s that or they are too lazy to throw it out in the trash can because they are tired of holding it and they are in the middle of the block. They think that it’s just a wrapper it won’t make a difference, or will it. What if everyone starts thinking that it won’t make a difference, that will make a big difference.

  3. Smoking When people smoke and are done with it they throw the end on the street. This is what I am talking about when people say that a little wrapper won’t make a difference. Most people who smoke don’t bother throwing away the end in the trash. Instead, they throw it on the street, as they are slowly killing the earth. Smoking does not just make pollution and trash the earth, it gets people sick which makes matters worse.

  4. Open Trash Sometimes when people leave open trash on the street it just makes more litter because the wind blows the trash out of the garbage and on to the street. I think if the garbage trucks would come more often than we would have less garbage on the street. People also need to prevent this from happening so we don’t have more garbage then we should really have.

  5. How Our Community Helps You know those street cleaners, the things that look like trucks with big brushes. They help our environment in a way by keeping our roads clean. Though they brush all the trash from the street onto the sidewalk, that is why we have Ready, Willing, & able. This organization helps homeless people get jobs and helps keep litter off our streets, this organization picks up all the dirty litter off our streets and keeps our environment clean.

  6. Reuse & Recycle When you reuse and recycle you keep a lot of litter from going onto the street because the people who litter have less waste to throw on the street. This also helps a lot of other things like pollution and trees.

  7. Clean the Beach When you have a picnic on the beach or eat lunch, make sure you clean up after yourself. When your trash is left on the beach it can harm a lot of birds because they can eat it or get it stuck around their throat and choke. One of the things that are dangerous to leave on the beach is the thing that holds the six pack of soda cans. This is not just a danger to birds but to fish, if the trash ends up in the ocean than what can happen to birds can happen to fish. Trash on the beach can kill a lot of endangered animals. Luckily we have volunteers to keep our beach clean.

  8. Gum Did you know that all those black spots on the street are pieces of gum. Imagine all the people who spit out gum onto the street, they think it’s just a piece of gum it won’t make a difference and everyone started thinking that. I took a survey on what people litter and more then half of the people said that they have littered gum or little wrappers.

  9. Ways to Help If you want to help this is how: 1)When you have trash put it in the trash can not on the street 2)Tell people who smoke to throw it in the trash 3)Reuse and recycle all your trash to help make less litter 4)Volunteer to help keep our streets clean 5)Donate to organizations to help
