We only had two bedrooms at our house but my mother wanted to help. She went along to West Street School when the evacuees arrived. She saw that two children, a boy and a girl aged about six or seven, hadn’t been chosen so, she volunteered to take them in until another home could be found for them. There were plenty of potatoes in the farmer’s field which wasn’t very far from where I lived. When there was nobody about my friends and I would ‘liberate’ a few, light a fire and cook them. We didn’t think anyone would notice us or our fire …. SAMPLE SLIDE Random Slides From This PowerPoint Show
