  2. George W. Bush The 43rd President of the United States. His father was a former president. Also a member of the republican party.

  3. Economic Issues • Cut growth of spending each year except DOD, DHS, DVA, & SSA. • Well-being of Main St. directly linked to fate of Wall St. • To avoid another crisis faith in free markets & free trade.

  4. Political Issues • $750,000 punitive damage cap in Texas tort reform • Draw House districts by panel of non-partisan elders. • Free market provides fairest way to allocate resources.

  5. Domestic Issues • Abortions: first president to fund embryonic stem cell research • Drugs: DUI resulted in $150 fine & no driving in Maine. • Education: focus on accountability instead of spending

  6. Consequences & Opinion The consequences of George W. Bush’s Presidency were the economy was brought extremely down and U.S is in more debt than ever before. I feel that if George W. Bush didn’t stay in office for so long the economy would have never went down and there wouldn’t be so many problems in the U.S.

  7. Harry Truman Was the United States 33rd President. He was Franklin D. Roosevelt’s 3rd vice president, and the 34th vice president of the United States.

  9. Domestic Issues • Administration of modern American presidency • Legislative program • Republican accusations of internal subversion & corruption

  10. Social Issues • FAIR DEAL • Pledge to fight against communism • Civil Rights Movement

  11. Consequences & Opinion • Truman stated that "Every segment of our population, and every individual, has a right to expect from his government a fair deal. The consequences were the Housing Act of 1949 and the Social Security Act of 1950. • I believe that without the actions taken by Truman in his presidency we would not be the best country in the world. And with all of the programs Truman created we have a lot of government assistance programs.
