Pembroke Elementary Successes: Currently Running… • -Presentation by Team Members to all district elementary staff and subsequent analysis of STEMperature Survey Monkey results to gauge elementary staff knowledge, needs, and challenges • -Design Squad (Grades 4,5,6) and Design Squad Junior (1,2,3) Enrichment Program offered to all district students • -Spring enrichment offering for Introduction to Robotics (Grades 5,6) • -Development of elementary STEM lesson template and start of creating grade level STEM lessons to integrate seamlessly with ELA and Math instruction • -Start of Science buddies to promote cross grade STEM experiences • -Technology: QR codes, Twitter, Instagram, iPads • -Collaboration with art teachers for STEAM lessons
Pembroke Elementary Successes: Coming soon… • -Pilot of EiE units and development of comparative feedback form (Spring 2013) • -Currently working with Science from Scientists to attain funding to bring the program to all Pembroke 5th graders • -Continued development of STEM lessons for district staff • -Summer STEM and STEAM Enrichment programs • -Grades 1- 3 Green House Initiative, spearheaded by parent biologists Bobsled Challenge Design Squad
