  2. Purpose of CELDT • Identification of entering students • Annual Assessments • One criterion for redesignation

  3. CELDT Update • CELDT begins May 2001 , for initials only • Replaces English Language Assessment Scale (LAS) • Primary Language Assessments remain in place. (Spanish LAS, BINL, and Informal Assessment)

  4. CELDT Update • The LAS-R can continue to be used for redesignation purposes until May 15. • Last date for Central District redesignation test scoring to be District is June 15.

  5. CELDT Update • Will be administered annually • July 2001 through October 2001 • CELDT Booklet levels • Level One: Grades K-2 • Level Two: Grades 3-5 • Level Three: Grades 6-8 • Level Four: Grades 9-12

  6. CELDT Update K - 12 : LISTENING AND SPEAKING • one on one • tape recorder • 30 minutes per student • (not including scoring) 2 - 12 : READING AND WRITING • approximately 1 hour • group

  7. ELL Program Coordinator’s Training School Teams (5) Thursday, April 19, 2001 and Wednesday, April 25, 2001 12:30 pm to 4:00pm Raddisson Midtown School Team (5) Monday, June 11, 2001 (Tentative)
