Dictionary Definition – A database is a structured set of data held in a computer or online. • Wiki Definition – A database is organised collection of data. • Databases are a method of storing data like Microsoft excel or Microsoft access. They use a system of tables and coeloms and rows. What is a Database?
Access allows you to control of your data, where as on excel you have less control. • Access can be used in schools, hospitals and anywhere else that needs to keep lots of information on people, equipment or money. • If you enter a query it can help you find specific information, however excel does not include this feature. First you press Create • Then click Query Design • Next drag the appropriate things into the top boxes • Then you should have your query How to do a Query
