Overview of LINCS • NIFL sponsors the Literacy Information aNd Communication System (LINCS) • You can search for literacy resources, information, and curricula across the LINCS Network and major national and international adult basic education and literacy sites. • The Special Collections are part of LINCS Matthew Scelza, Project Director, California Literacy, Inc.

What is a Special Collection? • The LINCS Special Collections are one-stop electronic gateways to specialized information on high-quality literacy practices and materials for use in adult education and literacy programs. • LINCS Special Collections are built around specific content areas, specific settings or contexts, and professional development topics.   8. Literacy Resources are the focus • Free, immediately useful materials • Teacher/Tutor • These are materials that instructors can use in their classrooms. Our focus is on materials that are free and available for immediate download. • Student/Learner • These are materials that learners can use on their own or with an instructor’s help. There are six categories to help learners find exactly what they’re looking for. • Manager/Administrator • These are materials to help administrators with human resource, organizational development, and funding issues.
