  3. Benefits Increased-- • Student participation and attention • Mobility –teach and learn from anywhere in the room. • Interaction with computer applications (i.e., MS Word, PowerPoint, etc.) Continue Overview

  4. Drawbacks • Limited availability. One pad per media cart. Must sign up to use. • Is not “plug and play”- -must establish Bluetooth connection • Increased student participation= increased classroom management skills Go to Set Up Guide

  6. ~Set-up Guide~ Charge Pad • Pad must be charged for 8 hours before initial use • Pad will stay charged for approximately 40 hours • **Metal points on the pen and the pad must touch when charging or pen/pad will not charge.   7. ~Set-up Guide~ Download Software • Interwrite Software must downloaded to computer. • Software download is available online. • Must download three programs- 1. Workspace Exam View Edition 2. Interwrite Content, and 3. EZURiO Bluetooth Driver Click above –Go to Interwrite Download site Continue Set Up Guide

  8. ~Set-up Guide~ Check Software • Interwrite Icon will appear on desktop and desk tray • Right click on the Interwrite Icon in the desk tray • Left click on Interactive Mode ** Interwrite toolbar will appear on the right side of the computer screen if the program is installed correctly.  Toolbar Continue Set Up Guide

  9. ~Set-up Guide~Create Bluetooth Connection • Bluetooth connection establishes link between computer and pad • Ensure software is downloaded • Plug Bluetooth connector into USB port on computer • Establish connection Go to Features & Functions

  10. ~Features and Functions~ Interactive Mode Select this mode to: • Access toolbar • Create new pages • Use Interwrite templates • Use Interwrite Image Gallery **Saved files using this mode can only be accessed later by having Interwrite software.  Continue Features & Functions

  13. ~Features and Functions~ Presentation Tools Includes tools that: • Create a blank page • Create a grid page • Use the InterWrite image gallery • Create a screen capture **Screen captures may only be used later by using Interwrite Software Continue Features & Functions

  16. ~Features and Functions~ Capture an Image • Click on toolbox • Click on Capture icon • Select an option from the Capture window. (Partial, Freeform, Page) • Place a check in the "Place capture in new page" to automatically create a blank page in workspace with new captured image. • Selected image will appear in Workspace as an image.   17. ~Features and Functions~ Image/Content Gallery Click on Gallery Icon to access: • Categories-- pre-existing image files organized by subject and sub-categories • Interwrite Sims—interactive Flash games and animations • Online lesson plan ideas and video tutorials Click image for tutorial Continue Features & Functions

  19. ~Features and Functions~ Office Mode Select this mode to: • Interact with Microsoft Applications such as; PowerPoint, Word document, and Excel spreadsheet ** Allows user to make annotations directly on the MS application and save as a doc., ppt, xls, etc instead of Interwrite file.   21. ~Classroom Instruction~ Personal Experiences Benefits: • Students LOVE using the Interwrite Pad. Often ask “Are we using the Pad today?” • Creates interactivity and adds excitement to lessons • Enjoy freedom to move around room Continue Classroom Instruction

  22. ~Classroom Instruction~ Personal Experiences Drawbacks: • Requires extra planning to create effective lessons • Students get so excited they “fight” over device requiring patience and strong classroom management skills • Must use InterWrite software for many features causing limitations for student/home use Continue Classroom Instruction

  23. ~Classroom Instruction~ Personal Experiences Brainstorm Activity-- • One Interwrite Pad was used for this activity • Asked students to write statement and pass to another student • Positive—High interest • Negative—Loud, sloppy, and took additional time Continue Classroom Instruction
