  3. IMST/ Union Consultations a. Mission Statement The IMST PMO is committed to open dialogue and consultation with Unions on IMST-related issues which may impact them and the Department.

  4. IMST/ Union Consultations b. Terms of Reference • Quarterly consultation meetings • Provide info and consult on IMST initiative • Give input on civilian HR strategies • Exchange views & discuss mitigation strategies

  5. IMST/ Union Consultations c. Desired Outcomes • Keep workforce optimally informed • Address concerns; mitigate rumours, hearsay • Safeguard employee rights, benefits • Smooth transitions • Healthy working environment

  6. IMST Update a. Mandate • Transform the current delivery of IM/IT infrastructure in the designated domain • Support the CDS vision and Defence Policy Statement • Implement standard level of service which meets operational and approved needs • Position DND/CF to respond to government-wide shared services initiative

  7. IMST Update b. Strategic Context • Defence Policy Statement April 2005: • CF to become more efficient, responsive • Search for efficiencies: • Minister Advisory Committee on Administrative Efficiencies identified IT-related cuts • Expenditure Review Committee identified progressive savings up to 2009-10, including IT-related savings • Shared Services Initiative (Gov’t - wide)

  8. IMST Update c. Scope • IT service infrastructure in the designated domain: • Clients and peripherals (desktop and printers) • Enterprise computing (IT infrastructure & ERPs) • Networks: LAN, MAN • DWAN • Help desk support • Internet Access • Telephony
