Poseidon By Ryan Aragona (Titus Terentius Honorius)
Poseidon (Neptune) • Parents: Cronos and Rhea • Sphere of influence: sea and earthquakes • Attributes: dolphin, horse, trident • Birthplace: Crete
THE CHARIOT OF POSEIDON (C3rd AD) This picture represents the god of the sea, Poseidon. It shows him riding in a chariot in the sea pulled by Hippokampoi, a fish-tailed horse. In his hand he holds his weapon, the trident. I think this is a good representation of the god of the sea.
Depiction from The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan In the book, The Lightning Thief, they describe Poseidon in a modern, casual way. This picture is what they were describing in the book. It shows Poseidon, as a middle-aged man wearing a Bahamas shirt, casually holding his drink and trident. I like this picture because it shows you a modern day Poseidon. It shows you something different than what you’d expect.
