Rather than having lots of phone lines connecting to various companies, the VAN (Value Added Network) was developed. Since the late 1970s (in the US) 25 different EDI X-12 standards have been released. Each Version is an “enhancement”. Globally there is also EDIFact and Tradacom as well as X-12. Essentially a simple standard has become non-standard.

Ship Request (940) Inventory Synch Ship Advice (945) Ship Request POs Retailer 3PL Fullfilment Inventory Adj Sales Orders Peachtree User Invoice Invoice (850) Hypothetical Case study A Peachtree User, needs to receive POs, send Ship info to 3PL, receive Shipped info, update Item Qty & send Invoices. • Purchase Order (PO) is sent from a Trading Partner to B2BGateway. • The PO is converted to a Sales order and sent to Peachtree user. • Ship Info is extracted from PT, converted and sent to 3PL (as 940). • 3PL ships goods, then sends fulfillment information back to Peachtree User. • Item Quantity updates are sent from 3PL, B2B creates an Inventory Adjustment. • Peachtreeuser send an Invoice back to Trading Partner.

Purchase Orders Sales Orders Retailer C Peachtree User So how does it work with Peachtree? • Using B2B Web Services the process takes one click. • POs Flow from the Trading partner to B2BGateway • POs convert into Peachtree sales orders • Sales orders are displayed in the B2BGateway EDI application. • With one click the orders are visible in PeachTree. • No order entry, one click automation.

Invoices and Advance Ship Invoices and ASNs Retailer C Peachtree User So how does it work with Peachtree? • For return Documents the flow is “one click automated”. • With a simple click, data is extracted from PT (see next slide). • Data is automatically retrieved by B2B. • Data is converted into Trading Partner format. • Data is sent to the Trading partner by B2BGateway. • Very little operator intervention, complete automation is also available! (Most users like some control, but full automation is available).

  11. Select the document type: Invoice, POs, etc. Press one button to Export from Peachtree and send to B2B. B2BGatewayFor Peachtree • To send Invoices or POs to a trading partner.
