Merger • Hitachi Software Engineering Co., Ltd. and Hitachi Systems & Services, Ltd (2 group companies that are part of Information & Telecommunication Systems Company) will merge on Oct. 1, 2010 • Purpose of merger is to strengthen marketplace competition by enhancing solutions-providing capabilities- they will do this by harnessing both companies’ management resources
IT market over the years • Over recent years, IT market has changed mostly due to customers accessing online rather than owning own systems. Business globalization is also another dynamic shaping the marketplace. • Because of this, Hitachi introduced an in-house company system and launched the Information & Telecommunication Systems Company (Hitachi Software Engineering, Hitachi Systems & Services, Hitachi Information Systems, Ltd. and Hitachi Electronics Services, Co., Ltd.) • Has been strengthening business framework so they can provide important one-stop services (instead of having to call one number and having to press multiple numbers to get to another service) and to be flexible to the needs of the clients
