CHALLENGES
Barriers to increasing the number of programs:
Current regulations resemble nursing home guidelines
Current regulations limit the flexibility to determine the type of program to be established - Medical or Social Model
4. ADULT DAY HEALTH CARE (ADHC) ACTIONS
Revise the current regulations by:
Changing language to remove the requirement to establish a program with care delivered by an inter-disciplinary health care team
Eliminating the comprehensive Home Care assessment
Changing the staffing & space requirement

Increase the number of DOM in state home programs
6. DOMICILIARY (DOM) CHALLENGES
Barriers to increasing the number of DOM programs:
Current standards are too restrictive and resemble nursing home care standards
Lack of flexibility to determine the type of program to be established - Medical or Social Model
7. DOMICILIARY (DOM) ACTIONS
Revise the current guidelines to provide the flexibility to establish either a medical or social model program.
