United Nations Association-Brazil - ANUBRA The United Nations Association - Brazil (UNAB/ANUBRA) is a non-governmental organization established in 1998. The main objective is to narrow the bonds of collaboration between Brazilians and the United Nations (UN). Affiliated with the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) - United Nation's civil arm - and working together, ANUBRA strives for sustainability through projects and programs in national and international scope. To engage the Brazilian population into the work and principles of the United Nations as well as in recent international affairs is a challenge for our institution. Cocktail Award Ceremony United Nations Fórum das Américas • Fórum das Américas is an independent institution, founded in 1978, dedicated to the discussion of the main hemispheric issues, from human rights to democracy, from environment to free trade. • organized wide range of seminars, international conferences and Books signing, the main highlight “The United Nations and Society in the Threshold of a New Millennium”, in 1998, the U.N. former Secretary-General Kofi Annan as the main speaker and gathered the most important leaders of the Brazilian society. Along with an office in Brazil,. • BFA works in educational projects to empower the least developed communities to actively be involved in social activities. • The BFA programs and projects follow the “The Eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)” of the UN. BFA is affiliated with the UN Economic and Social Council - ECOSOC. • We are working in partnership with I.R.E.O and the ANUBRA to generate financial support to promote for more sustainable development projects. • Our goal is to implement pilot projects within national and regional communities. Based on the results of these projects, we will share with other organizations the results and expand the efforts and lessons learned to implement similar programs in their communities
