Your 7 Wanders • Select one place from your list • Write a complete paragraph (5- 7 complete sentences- blue or black pen) • Begin with a topic sentence that clearly introduces your place • Include three body sentences that richly describe the setting with vivid, intentional sensory detail! • Include an interesting concluding sentence • Beautifully draw or print (and color!) a picture that evokes your paragraph- USE the WHOLE space! Color!! • This will be formally assessed for organization, choice of diction/sensory word choice, and time and care of art.20points • Due next class

  8. Grand Khan Bazaar- Egypt • Being whisked away to the Grand Khan Bazaar in Cairo’s ancient alleyways is sure to delight one’s senses. Plumes of sandalwood incense and thick smoke from hookah shops stream though the tangled, labyrinth-like corridors of stalls selling it all: mirrored clinking belly dance skirts, thick wool carpets, chunky salt from the Dead Sea, azure lapiz lazuli and fiery tiger’s eye pendants and heaps of textiles and silks. The cacophony of bargainersand coins, roosters clucking and flutes whistle and echo. The heat sticks to the old stones and the aroma of grilled meats, piquant olives, sugared fruits and dried sesame cakes follow me through the darkened tunnels. Here you can bargain hard and laugh loud with the locals in this other-worldly market and treasures will be found.
