  8. The Pleasures of Quitting Quitters will experience small and large pleasures: Freedom from carrying cigarettes, lighters, and matches. No longer causing harm to the health of others. The ability to taste food and smell. Fresh smelling hair and clothes. The ability to walk without getting out of breath. Secrets for Success

  9. The Fear of Weight Gain Some smokers are afraid that weight gain will accompany quitting. Smoking is an oral behavior and some quitters turn to another oral behavior to take its place—eating. Weight gain can be prevented by drinking fluids, snacking on veggies, and becoming more active. Secrets for Success

  10. Help for Quitters • There are many different resources to help a person quit smoking.

  11. People can get help quitting with these resources: Classes that identify a smoker’s style and tailor a quitting plan to each smoker’s needs.
