  14. Creativity and Innovation/5C’s • Students rework a familiar story incorporating elements from the Chinese culture and create a new story. • Students discuss and design a board game that incorporates the study of geography.

  15. Critical Thinking Skills/5C’s • Students interview one another to investigate eating habits, analyze the data, synthesize it into a graph and share the results. • Students explore an environmental issue, discuss it in groups and propose a solution.

  16. Collaboration/5C’s • Students team with another class/school to identify an issue on consumption of energy; they collaborate in research and share their finding. • Students engaged in a school-wide campaign to plan a series of activities to raise money to support victims of an earthquake.

  17. Communication/5C’s • Students browse the website for today’s headline news in Chinese. ( 1.2) • Students demonstrate their purposefor communication through discussing what they read in the news.( 1.1) • Students articulate thoughts by sharing what they discussed. (1.3)
