Research Priorities Creation in the year 2000 of the Ural Research and Education Center “Advanced Materials” in the framework of Russian-American “Basic Research and Higher Education” program gave substantial impulse for development of research work and education activities.

Laboratory of Scanning Probe Microscopy • Today – Ural Community Access Center “Scanning Probe Microscopy”. • Year 2000 – First Atomic Force Microscope bough for$60,000 (BRHE). • Year 2011 – Total Cost of Equipment – over $13 Million.
Laboratory of material properties calculation and computer modeling • Laboratory o computational physics. • High-performance computing cluster based on HP DL160 dual-processor nodes with Quad-core E5430 processors. • New course prepared: "Introduction to high performance computing."

Chromatograph-Mass Spectrometer DFS High Resolution GC/MSThermo Scientific (USA) bought for $600,000 in 2011 for Community Access Center “Modern Nanotechnologies” (Russian Federal Budget Funding).
