  2. Women cladded in golden bordered white cotton saree and men in soft- colored kurta and white dhoti is a holistic symbol of any Indian pooja ritual. Let us checkout some of the traditional Indian clothing.

  4. Saree: These are exquisite pieces of silk, cotton, georgette and many more. Saree seems to be the best dress which adds oomph to the beauty of a woman. The saree are generally 5 to 7 yards in length. Best part about this Indian apparel is, it can be worn in several ways. Indian women wear a blouse piece, a petticoat and over these pieces drape the sari. Interesting fact about this Indian dress material is, almost every Indian state weaves a sari from different material, so there are loads of varieties and colors to try out. Besides solid colored sari embellished with stones, the soft drapes are also available as combination of multiple colors.

  5. Salwar suits Indian women love colors and fashion. Salwar kameez is another unique traditional Indian clothing. A pant (generally known as salwar/ churidar) with long tailed or to- the- knee- shirt (generally known as kurta/ kurti) combines to form salwar kameez or kurta- churidar. This dress is easy to carry and is best option when women need to move around fast. The daily wear salwar suits are made with light fabric like cotton while the festive wear is made with gorgeous silk, georgette or brocade. Embroidery, mirror work and lace work are spectacular Indian stitches which adorn this Indian clothing.

  6. GagraCholi Also called lehenga, this is a large flared skirt with a separate top. Generally worn during weddings and festivals, Gagracholi is available in both soft and bright colors. Girls can opt for light texture during pooja while bright colors match well with the glitz and glamour of festivities.

  8. Dhoti Indian men also have a unique dressing style. Dhoti is a 2nd century traditional Indian clothing. It is comfortable and cool wear which aptly suits the weather of the Indian subcontinent. Dhoti can be referred as a loose skirt or type of shorts which is tied around the waist. Like sari, the way of wearing dhoti differs from one place to the other. Dhoti are generally plain in design and available in different colors; the most popular color being white. The dhoti which are worn during the festive season generally come with zari border. Hand weaved and soft in texture, dhoti adds to the sanctity of the pooja occasions
