  2. List as many colleges or universities as you can. • List the colleges or universities that you would like to attend.

  3. MAJORS • Major: A major is the one subject or field that you want to study. You get a degree for this. If you major in two different subjects/areas you then are a Double Major. • Examples: Teachers are Liberal Studies Majors • Doctors are Biology Majors • Actors are Drama Majors

  4. MINOR • Minor: A minor is like a major but you do not take as many classes. You need a major in order to have a minor.

  5. DEGREES • What kind of degrees can you get at a Community College? • Degrees: A.A.=Associates of Arts • A.S. Associates of Science

  6. (4 year University Degrees) • B.A.=Bachelor or Arts • B.S.=Bachelor of Sciences • M.A.=Master of Arts • M.S.=Master of Sciences • Ph.D.=Doctor of Philosophy • J.D.= Doctor of Laws • M.D.=Doctor of Medicine

  7. UC • U.C.- Stands for University of California • There are 10 UC schools. • UC Davis UC Riverside • UC Berkeley UC Los Angeles • UC San Francisco UC Irvine • UC Santa Cruz UC San Diego • UC Santa Barbara UC Merced

CSU • CSU- Stands for California State University • There are 23 CSU schools. • CSU Chico *CSU Los Angeles • CSU Sacramento *CSU Fullerton • CSU Monterey Bay *CSU Dominguez Hills • CSU Fresno *CSU Long Beach • *CSU Northridge *CSU San Diego State • *Cal Poly Pomona *CSU San Marcos • * in Southern California

  12. Community College Fees • Community College • $16.00 or more per unit • $700 for books, fees and transportation • If there is no cost for living at home then it cost less than $1,100 a year.
