Additional notes following the information evening: • All information regarding the upcoming Subject Specific Sessions and the Activity Mornings will be communicated via Insight after half term. • The vast majority of students invited to the Information Evening have been identified based on their primary school and current data. Those who have been nominated by subject teachers will be aware.
Aims • Overview of ‘High Ability Pupil’ provision at Wellsway School • Outline of ‘Challenge’ provision in class • Opportunities outside lessons • How you can help as parents
“Why am I here?” • Student achievement- primary school and current data (vast majority of students are identified by this method) • Referral by teachers • Student self-referral • Departments/staff regularly review

Challenge Top Tips for students: • Frequently attempt the challenge and extend tasks in lessons • Answer and ask questions • Listen carefully to other’s responses, explain why you agree or disagree and why their response is successful • Go beyond ‘necessary’ with homework tasks • Get involved with afterschool activities • Attend the P.E and Performing Arts subject session afterschool on 14th March • Attend the Activity Morning on Friday 22nd March (p1 and p2) • Apply to become a Challenge Leader
