POURNAMI TOOLS Single Pass Honing Tool Technical advantages • Accuracy up to 1 micron tolerance can be achieved • Geometrical Parameters such as Circularity, Cylindricity & Bore Straightness can be controlled by a single operation • A surface finish of Ra 0.1 (even less on special request) can be achieved • Expansion of tool can be achieved by simple manual adjustments by operator

POURNAMI TOOLS Single Pass Honing Tool Special Radial & Axial Floating Holder • PT Floating Holder is used to counter the radial and axial misalignment caused between the work piece, tool & spindle • PT Floating Holder adjusts the float in order to prevent bore enlargement and also helps to reduce the chatter mark • PT Floating Holder ensures that the tool follows an accurate centric path • Usage of PT Floating Holder enables doubling of speed & feed rate • Expands equally parallel on total circumference resulting in repeated high accuracy • Ensures cylindricityand circularity in microns

  8. POURNAMI TOOLS Single Pass Honing Tool More features • Floating holder collet chuck for the tool could be used on lathes, drill presses or any machine. This requires an extra or existing coolant circuit with fine filtration of up to 0.02 mm for the ultimate result • The coolant has to be a very low viscous oil to avoid heat and needs a system pressure of 5 bar or less at a flow rate of 10 to 15 liters per minute to avoid heat and possible stickiness (gumminess) • This holder can be mounted in any conventional machines like lathe, drilling, milling or CNC machines like CNC turning, VMC, Turn mill centers, HMC, VTL, etc • For radial drilling / drill presses, Morse Taper Adaptor can be made available for side lock holders

POURNAMI TOOLS Single Pass Honing Tool More features • Tool has a straight shank or taper shank, slotted cutting area and tool body with special coating technology • The tool diameter can be increased or decreased by a threaded plunger through fine adjustments • Job or tool can be floated either side by 0.1 mm to 1.0 mm • Adjustment can be done without removing the tool from the machine • In comparison to the other usual finishing operations, single pass honing is more suitable for thin walled jobs
