Sac Fungi (Ascomycotes) largest group of fungi Indentified by asci: small finger-like sac structures in which sac fungi develop spores ^ develop during sexual reproduction. most at saprotrophs – which break things down that are hard-to-digest they reproduce asexually this group also includes single-celled yeasts (reproduce asexually as well- budding)
Imperfect Fungi (Deutreomycotes) • Reproduce ONLY asexually • They appear not to have a sexual phase of reproduction as other fungi do. refered to as“imperfect fungi” • Conidia: type of spore that produces mycelia in the deutermycotes, basidionycotes and ascomycotes. • This group is diverse, and many of its members are of importance to humans.
