Test Days!!! Tuesday and Wednesday • Come in and have a seat. • Pass back papers and progress reports. • You will have 5 minutes to review your class notes for the test. • Clear your desk of everything but a pen/pencil
After you are done: • Turn in the test into the orange bin • Complete Ms. Farley’s Class Challenge • Directions: Answer the following questions using your peers as a resource. Do not use your textbooks, internet, or other items. • Name all 50 states and their capitals? • How many words can you create without doubling letters from “North Carolina?”
Class challenge • Label the blank USA map with all of the states. • One person at the board at a time, pass the marker from one person to the next.
Warm-up for 9/12 and 9/13 • Answer the following questions: • Name the seven continents. • What are the four cardinal directions? • Name the four oceans. • What is the largest river in the US?

Pop Quiz!!! • Clear test of everything but a pencil. • There is to be no talking from now, until all tests are turned in. • You have 10 minutes from when I say begin. • Good luck
USA Today • Working with your 1 o’clock partner, complete your US geography packet. • I will be collecting this work at the end of class whether you are done or not for a class work grade. • Use your time wisely.
Warm-up: 9/16 and 9/17 • Answer the following questions on your warm-up sheet using your textbooks, or notes from class last Thursday. • What are the names of the Great Lakes? • What are the two main mountain ranges of the US? • What kind of natural barriers do you think the first explorers of the Americas dealt with? • Any homework that you have for me needs to go into the orange bin. • Write down your homework in your agenda book or homework page of your binder. I will be coming around to stamp it showing that I have seen your agenda.
Last week we… • Started working on our Map Quest of the USA. • Today, you will be given 1hr to complete the remainder of the packet. • I will be collecting the Map Quest for a class work grade after the hour time limit is up.
If you get done with the Map Quest, then it’s Quia Time • Each student will receive a student id login in for quia.com. This will allow for you to select the appropriate study tools and occasional tests that we will have on quia.com. • From now until the end of class. You may study the geography of the US using quia.com. Please see me if you have nay questions. • This class site will be running through June 29th 2014.

Name 5 states that the range runs through. • What 3 states touch the Pacific Ocean? • What two states were created in December 1787? • Write down your homework, I will come stamp it after we have reviewed our warm-up.
Review the 50 states Map Quest • Today we will review the USA Map quest we did. Please get it out. If you have something that is incorrect, please change it. We do not want to be learning the wrong material.

You may need to hit the “NEXT” button to find the answer on another page. Please answer in complete sentences. • Play the 50 states game when finished.

Primary sources offer an inside view of a particular event.

Quia Time • If we have completed EVERYTHING in class, then log on to quia.com and play the “Name That State” game.
Warm-up 9/24 and 9/25 • On your Warm-up sheet write: Review day • Turn in all homework to the orange bin. • Write down your homework, I will come around and stamp it. • Get out your Primary and Secondary Sources handout from your class work section of your binder.
Homework- Write this down • Study Guide: For the essay questions, I will need an answer for the essay questions to get an idea of what you are looking for, if you were the teacher. • Test is Friday, if you need help studying see me before the end of class and I can pull you for lunch study time. If the links on Edmodo don’t help, or the quia activities, or study guide. • Current event #2 due Friday

Study Guide Go to Edmodo.com and work on your assignment titled “Study Guide” this is due by Friday. This is an individual assignment, that means we are working alone without talking. If you complete it in class, turn it in. I will be able to grade it at home. Thank you so much. Ms. Farley
Test Day!!!! Core 1 You will have 5 minutes to look over your study guide. After the 5 minutes is up, turn your study guide into the orange bin. Then return to your desk and leave nothing out but a pen/pencil. While the tests are out, there is no talking. After the test, turn your test into the orange bin, and answer questions 1- 6 on page 9 of your America textbook in complete sentences.
Core 2 and 3- Test Day • You will have 10 minutes to review your notes and to turn in your study guides on Edmodo.com or into the Orange Bin. • After 10 mins., Clear your deck of everything, but a pen/pencil. • There is no talking while the test is out. • After the test, turn it in to the Orange Bin. • Read pages 6-9 in your “America” Textbook. Answer questions 1(a+b), 2(a+b), 4, 5, and 6. Use complete sentences when it asks for it. If you get this done, turn it in to the Orange Bin.
