Target Hoops. AIM: To score as many points as possible using 4 beanbags. EQUIPMENT: 6 hoops – 3 different colours 8 beanbags Line to mark throwing line Measuring Tape. 20 points. INSTRUCTIONS: Set-up two ‘target hoop’ stations close to each other.

Target Hoops AIM: To score as many points as possible using 4 beanbags. EQUIPMENT: 6 hoops – 3 different colours 8 beanbags Line to mark throwing line Measuring Tape 20 points • INSTRUCTIONS: • Set-up two ‘target hoop’ stations close to each other. • Ensure hoops are touching and the first hoop is 2m from the throwing line. • Pupils have 4 beanbags per attempt. • All 4 beanbags to be thrown and then points to be added up – as indicated in diagram. • Collect beanbags and record point score. 10 points 5 points TIPS: Use an underarm throw. Keep eyes on target. Don’t overstep throwing line. 2m WHOLE BEANBAG MUST LAND IN HOOP FOR POINTS TO COUNT
Tight Rope Challenge AIM: To walk across skipping rope on bench in the quickest time possible whilst balancing a beanbag on head. • INSTRUCTIONS: • Set up two ‘tight-rope’ challenge stations close to each other . • Ensure mats do not overlap. • One pupil on bench at a time. • Pupil gets onto bench and puts a beanbag on their head. • Stopwatch starts as soon as beanbag is on their head. • Pupil then makes their way across skipping rope without bean bag falling off their head. • Stopwatch stops as soon as pupil jumps off bench. EQUIPMENT: 2 Benches 2 long skipping ropes 12 mats 2 beanbags 2 stopwatches IF BEANBAG FALLS OFF – PUPIL MUST STOP AND SPORTS LEADER HANDS BACK – STOPWATCH DOES NOT STOP. SPORTS LEADER TO WALK ALONG SIDE BENCH.
Throw and Catch Against Wall AIM: To throw ball against wall and catch as many times as possible in 30 seconds. EQUIPMENT: 1 non-sting pink ball Metre stick Throw down line Stopwatch • INSTRUCTIONS: • Pupils to stand a minimum of 1metre away from wall. • From this point pupils throw the ball against the wall and catch as many times as possible in 30 seconds. 1metre 1 Sports Leader = Time Keeper 1 Sports Leader = Ball Retriever
Fireman’s Ladder 1 metre AIM: To run through the ladder with two feet in each run as many times as possible in 30 seconds. EQUIPEMENT: 2 ladders 8 cones 2 stopwatches 1 metre stick • INSTRUCTIONS: • Set up two ‘fireman’s ladder’ stations close to each other. • Start stopwatch on go. • Pupils run through the ladder with two feet landing in each run of the ladder. • Pupils complete the ladder as many times as possible in 30 seconds. • One full circuit = 1 • When 30 seconds is up – if pupil is in a section of the ladder count this as a point for example 4.3
Hurdles AIM: To jump over the four hurdles as many times as possible in 30 seconds. EQUIPMENT: 8 cones 4 plastic poles 1 stopwatch Starting line 1 metre • INSTRUCTIONS: • One pupil at a time to start from starting line and jump over the 4 hurdles. • Stopwatch starts on ‘go’. • Pupils jump the hurdles as many times as possible in 30 seconds. • One full circuit = 1 • When 30 seconds is up – if pupil is in a section of the hurdles count this as a point for example 4.3 1 Sports Leaders = Time keeper & counter. 1 Sports Leader = Pick up any hurdles knocked over.
Speed Bounce AIM: To jump two-footed over bound as many times as possible in 30 seconds. EQUIPMENT: 4 cones 2 plastic poles 2 stopwatches 2 gym mats • INSTRUCTIONS: • Set up two speed bounces close to each other. • Must be on a gym mat. • Pupils start on one side and using a two-footed jump must jump over the bound as many times as possible in 30 seconds.
2 metres ZigZag Run AIM: To complete the zig-zag run as quickly as possible. EQUIPMENT: 5 cones 1 stopwatch 2 start/end lines Measuring tape 10 metres • INSTRUCTIONS: • One pupil at a time to complete zig-zag run. • Stopwatch starts on ‘go’ • Every cone must be touched with one hand. • Stopwatch stopped when cross finish line.
Tennis Ball Balance Run AIM: To balance a tennis ball on a tennis racket and make way through the cones without dropping the tennis ball and avoiding the cones in the quickest possible time. EQUIPMENT: 20 cones 1 short handled tennis racket 2 tennis balls 1 stopwatch Start and finish line • INSTRUCTIONS: • Start stopwatch on ‘go’ • Pupils must balance tennis ball on racket and make way through the cones. • Add 5 seconds every time tennis ball is dropped. • Add 5 seconds if collision with a cone. • Stop stopwatch when get to finish line. Set-up in half-a-badminton court
Around the World Tennis Balls AIM: To put all of the tennis balls into the bucket one at a time as quickly as possible. EQUIPMENT: 8 cones 8 tennis balls 1 bucket 1 stopwatch 1m • INSTRUCTIONS: • On ‘go’ start stopwatch. • Pupils collect one tennis ball at a time and put it into the central bucket. • Stop stopwatch once 8th tennis ball has been put into bucket. 1 metre
Skittles AIM: To use an underarm throw and accurately knock down as many skittles as possible. EQUIPMENT: Skittles 1 Ball Tape measure Throw line marker • INSTRUCTIONS: • Stand behind throw line. • Throw the ball towards skittles and knock down as many as possible. • Point per skittle knocked down (3 skittles knocked down = 3 points). • 20 points for a strike. 5 metres
Ruler Drop Test AIM: To test reaction time. EQUIPMENT: x2 1 metre rulers • INSTRUCTIONS: • Pupil has hand positioned ready to catch ruler. • Ruler should be placed in-between thumb and fingers but not gripped. • Bottom of ruler should be level with bottom of hand. • Sport leader without warning lets go of the ruler. • Pupils catches ruler as quickly as possible. • Measurement taken from top of the thumb
Around the Clock Beanbag Challenge AIM: To throw with accuracy and begin to consider tactics. 12 EQUIPMENT: Throw line 6 beanbags/non-bounce pom-pom balls 2 sets of clock-face-number cards 9 3 2m • INSTRUCTIONS: • Set up two ‘clock-face’ stations close to each other. • Pupils stand behind throw line and throw three beanbags/pom-pom balls one at a time. • Beanbags/pom-pom balls to be thrown onto a number. • Pupils can be tactful by throwing all beanbags/pom-pom balls to closest number (6). • Points added up once all 3 are thrown. • Points = clock numbers where bean-bags/pom-pom balls land added up. E.g. if land on 3,6 and 10 = 19 points. 6 1m
