What is Edmodo? • Edmodo is a social learning network for teachers, students and parents. • Edmodo was founded by Nicholas Borg and Jeff O’Hara. They were technologists who worked at separate schools in the Chicago area.
History of Edmodo • In 2010, Edmodo launched “subject and “publisher” communities, a digital media library, a help center and parent accounts for communicating with teachers, parents and students.
Groups • Groups are for a student’s classes. • Whenever a teacher posts to the group, it shows up as an alert in the notification box. • Teachers and other students can also send you direct messages. • There is a function that allows parents to see what their child is doing on Edmodo.
Design • Teachers can post grades and assign homework to students. • Students can then submit their homework and view their grades.
