  1. Adjective Clauses - 1 • An adjective clause: a dependent clause that modifies a noun. • It is also called a relative clause. • Using Subject Pronouns: Who, Which, That a. The girl is very happy. She won the Essay Competition. (she = subject  who) The girl who won the Essay Competition is very happy.

  2. Adjective Clauses - 1 b. The book is mine. It is on the table. (the book = subject  which)  The book which in on the table is mine. • Using Object Pronouns: who(m), which, that a. I liked the composition. You wrote it. (the composition / it = object --> which) --> I liked the composition which you wrote.

  3. Adjective Clauses - 1 • bThe movie wasn’t very good. We saw it last night (it = object --> which) --> The movie which we saw last night wasn’t very good. • Using Whose • I apologized to the woman. I spilled her coffee. • (her coffee --> whose coffee) --> I apologized to the woman whose coffee I spilled.
