Responsibilities MSU Produce ITC fiber assemblies for EB instrumentation - 99% completed Design, construct and test prototypes of crack (E3, E4) scintillators - completed Purchase scintillator (E1:E4) Purchase & Prepare WLS fibers (E1:E4) Assemble, test & install crack scintillators - purchase and assembly of mechanical components pending submission approval of drawings UTA Design, construct and test prototype of gap (E1, E2, C10) scintillators - in progress Assemble, test & install gap scintillators R. Issues & Status Funding/production status Funding (USATLAS) OK’d for gap scintillators Funding OK’d for crack scintillator mechanical components - Production delayed pending TC approval of drawings Special Modules Fiber assemblies for modules with special ITC submodules is almost completed (except for 1 special module type) Prototype mounting brackets have been made for modules with modified inner R - attached after EB assembly - allows us to use standard scintillators on all modules - one didn’t fit Light Covers Plastic film to cover fiber cables, connectors - detailed design in progress R. Miller May 13, 2002
Further testing More Test Beam signal levels ? Cs Scans - signal levels ? Radiation hardness tests ? Check mounting & light covers on EB pre-assembly Issues & Status (cont.) R. Miller May 13, 2002
