  1. ITC Scintillator Project 1.6 1.4 E3 C10 B11 E1 D5 A14 - A15 B14 D6 A16 - - 1.2 D4 A12 A13 B12 - B13 - - - - B15 - 1.1 1.0 R. Miller May 13, 2002

  2. Responsibilities MSU Produce ITC fiber assemblies for EB instrumentation - 99% completed Design, construct and test prototypes of crack (E3, E4) scintillators - completed Purchase scintillator (E1:E4) Purchase & Prepare WLS fibers (E1:E4) Assemble, test & install crack scintillators - purchase and assembly of mechanical components pending submission approval of drawings UTA Design, construct and test prototype of gap (E1, E2, C10) scintillators - in progress Assemble, test & install gap scintillators R. Miller May 13, 2002

  3. Gap Scintillator Design R. Miller May 13, 2002

  4. Crack Scintillator Design R. Miller May 13, 2002

  5. Optical Paths R. Miller May 13, 2002

  6. Envelope R. Miller May 13, 2002

  7. Mounting Proposal R. Miller May 13, 2002

  8. Special Mounting R. Miller May 13, 2002

  9. Issues & Status Funding/production status Funding (USATLAS) OK’d for gap scintillators Funding OK’d for crack scintillator mechanical components - Production delayed pending TC approval of drawings Special Modules Fiber assemblies for modules with special ITC submodules is almost completed (except for 1 special module type) Prototype mounting brackets have been made for modules with modified inner R - attached after EB assembly - allows us to use standard scintillators on all modules - one didn’t fit Light Covers Plastic film to cover fiber cables, connectors - detailed design in progress R. Miller May 13, 2002

  10. Further testing More Test Beam signal levels ? Cs Scans - signal levels ? Radiation hardness tests ? Check mounting & light covers on EB pre-assembly Issues & Status (cont.) R. Miller May 13, 2002
