ANNEXATION PROCESS • Two defined sections would unify all City of DeSoto under the DeSoto ISD • Increase in students: • Dallas ISD ~ 25; D’ville ISD ~ 275 • Students finishing at existing school: • Not just our decision • We will work with both ISDs to assure students needs are the top priority CROSS THE LINE: CHOOSE TO BE THE BEST
ANNEXATION PROCESS • Increase in tax revenue: • Dallas ISD ~ $7M; D’ville ISD ~ $2M • Current over 65 frozen tax levys (or those filed by the appraisal district deadline) will remain frozen • Homeowners who have filed over 65 will pay the same frozen amount at the new ISD • Over 65 frozen - What you paid last year is what you will always pay, unless it goes down CROSS THE LINE: CHOOSE TO BE THE BEST

ANNEXATION PROCESS • Two ways this can take place: • Resident Detachment and Annexation TEC Ch. 13.051 • Petition by registered voters in section • Majority registered voters approve • ISD Boards file resolutions • Wealth Equalization - TEC Ch. 41 • Ch. 41 (Dallas ISD) detaches section • Ch. 42 (DeSoto ISD) annexes section CROSS THE LINE: CHOOSE TO BE THE BEST
