Why Create an App? • Approximately 140,000 Americans under the age of 45 are diagnosed with cancer each year. • While many patients have a good chance for survival, many risk losing their fertility as a result of cancer or its treatment. • Currently, less than 50 percent of cancer patients receive adequate fertility information before treatment. • The SaveMyFertility campaign developed provider and patient information materials that can be delivered via SmartPhone App or directly downloaded from the web.
What is SaveMyFertility? • An iSaveFertility iPhone App for health care providers that includes: • Quick reference guides with fertility risks and options for female, male, and childhood cancer patients • The ability to directly email patients educational fact sheets in English or Spanish. • SaveMyFertility.org is a web site that has provider guides and patient fact sheets that can be viewed and printed.
