  2. Visit the Media Center Webpagehttp://fcmartin.dadeschools.net/mediacenter Select “Book Catalogs” from the main menu

  3. Frank C. Martin Destiny Select the “FCM Destiny” Catalog

  4. DESTINY - The way to get what you want from the media center • Students and other users see ‘basic’ catalog options • Staff MUST log in to be able to place items on HOLD. • Select “Login” at the upper right corner. Enter network username and password (same as email and gradebook)

  5. Your are IN the system • Once logged in, more options become available. • Select Catalog to search for videos.

  6. SEARCH for desired item • Be sure to search only our school’s collection. • Enter key words, title, etc.

  7. Once desired item is located… When list of results appear, SELECT desired item.

  8. HOLD IT! • This is the most important step! • Click “Hold it!” in order to request desired item • This is the ONLY way to request videos • Repeat steps as necessary for each desired item

  9. You’ve done your part. Now we do ours… • Once you have placed desired item(s) on hold, library staff receives a prompt to process your request • Delivery service available at no additional charge • Sorry, same day service NOT available

  10. Summary • Staff MUST log in to be able to request items (place holds) • Be sure to log out after transaction is complete • Video collection is accessible to staff only via Destiny • Requested videos will be delivered to teacher within 48 hrs • If video is to be played on CCTV system, it must be re-submitted to media center one week in advance of requested viewing date • This service is provided only for videos in the FCM collection • Staff may place any item available in the catalog on hold (i.e. books, AV equipment, etc.) • Enjoy the efficiency that utilizing Destiny can bring to your lesson planning
