The beginning of a journey • Maximizing the power of partnership: Working both at the national level and in partnership with community-based affiliates is the best way to advance NCLR’s mission • Realizing the potential of the network: NCLR believes there are opportunities to strengthen and better leverage its relationship with affiliates • Embarking on a joint effort: To reach that potential, NCLR reached out to affiliates to learn about what they can do together to maximize impact in the community

Changes for affiliates • Movement between categories: All affiliates are general members and can become partners when both NCLR and the affiliate wish to engage more deeply • Dues: NCLR proposes to move to a sliding scale for membership dues • Disaffiliation: There may be times when either NCLR or an affiliate determines that affiliation is no longer a good fit

Changes for NCLR Elevated role for AMS Senior staff in field offices To support its affiliate relations NCLR will elevate the role of AMS within headquarters and put in place new communications, planning processes, and information systems To provide a greater level of localization and customization, NCLR proposes to shift more resourcesinto the field includingmore senior-level policy staff
