  2. LORD OF THE FLIES CHAPTER 2 #2 Why does Ralph insist they must have a fire? Consequently, what do most boys do? How are they able to light it? Answer: Ralph insists that they must have a fire for a rescue signal. The boys agree and all run to look for wood. In order to start the fire, they take Piggy’s specs for a burning glass.

  4. LORD OF THE FLIES CHAPTER 2 #4 Piggy’s job is to get a list of names. Why doesn’t he do that? Answer: He cannot get a hold of everyone as all the boys are running around all over the island.

  5. LORD OF THE FLIES CHAPTER 2 #5 Why do you suppose some of the boys want “rules, lots of rules”? Answer: The boys were used to having rules to follow when they were home and they want some order.
