Collection and revision of data • Data is quarterly reported, basically electronic, through IDUN (Statistic Norway’s system for electronic exchange of data with business establishments). • Paper questionnaire is available and can be ordered via a 24-hour automatic telephone service, if the respondent is unable to use IDUN • We use both electronic editing applications and manual revision to control the data. • High response rate, due to a compulsory fine ”threat”. • The index series from 1st quarter 2006 – 4th quarter 2007 are estimated, using data from the trade organisation. This is done in order to set the base year to 2006.
Publishing • Unfortunately, this index has been given a low priority compared to other more important tasks. The results are therefore not published yet, although the original plan was to have an index ready for publication in the 2nd quarter of 2010. • Expected publication date is now November 12th, with index series from 1st quarter 2006 – 3rd quarter 2010.
