Liu Shenfa et al (Nufront) Abstract • This proposal describes the Interference scenarios in EUHT networks, and the co-existence scenario of IEEE -802.11 based WLAN and EUHT networks • The presentation provides the interference management issues for EUHT networks • The presentation shows the co-existence scenarios for IEEE 802.11 and EUHT
Liu Shenfa et al (Nufront) Introduction • EUHT has been published as Chinese industrial standard in Feb, 2012 • EUHT can be used in 2.4GHz or 5.8GHz ISM band • 5GHz band : • 5150~5350 MHz • Open for systems with tx power < 200mW, indoor applications only • 5470 ~ 5725 MHz • Still under discussion • 5725 ~ 5850 MHz • Apply before deployment
Liu Shenfa et al (Nufront) Interference management in EUHT networks • Multichannel OFDM is used on the EUHT PHY • Large number of CAPs / STAs is expected in EUHT • Interference management issue is important with the increasing “cells” in EUHT networks • Two Interference Scenarios are presented. • Interference between synchronized EUHT System • Interference between non-synchronized EUHT System
Liu Shenfa et al (Nufront) Interference between synchronized EUHT System • Synchronized EUHT cells with the same frequency have interference between home CAP and neighbor STA
Liu Shenfa et al (Nufront) Interference between non-synchronized EUHT System • Non-Synchronized EUHT cells with the same frequency have interference between home CAP and neighbor STA , and between the CAPs and STAs belongs to different cells.
Liu Shenfa et al (Nufront) Coexistence Scenario of IEEE 802.11 and EUHT • Co-existence interference analysis
Liu Shenfa et al (Nufront) Interference between EUHT network and IEEE 802.11 network The existence of EUHT network will decrease the successful rate of CSMA, and decrease the capacity of IEEE 802.11 network. Obviously, EUHT system will occupy more time slot.
Liu Shenfa et al (Nufront) Conclusions • Fairness concepts and policies are required for co-existence • Currently, can’t guarantee good co-existence performance • The typical interference scenarios in which IEEE 802.11 and EUHT systems are operated on the same and adjacent frequency bands need to be addressed
