International Olympic Academy (IOA) • Founded in 1961 in Olympia, Greece, following the original idea of Pierre de Coubertin • IOA Mission: To function as an International Academic Centre for Olympic Studies, Education and Research www.ioapa.org
IOAPA Timeline • 1985/86/87: Idea during IOA Young Participants Sessions • 1989: IOAPA foundation. First Session held at the IOA • Difficult first years but now an active network worldwide: 800 members from more than 100 countries www.ioapa.org
