  3. Khiấy, Đức Giê-su cầu nguyện ở nơi kia. Người cầu nguyện xong, Once Jesus was in a certain place praying, and when he had finished,

  4. one of his disciples said, ‘Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples. thìcó mộtngười trongnhómmôn đệ nóivới Người: “ThưaThầy, xin dạy chúng con cầu nguyện,cũngnhư ôngGio-an đã dạy môn đệcủa ông."

  5. Người bảocác ông: He said to them, ‘Say this when you pray:

  6. "Khi cầu nguyện,anhem hãy nói: 'Lạy Cha, xin làmchodanhthánh Cha vinhhiển,TriềuĐại Cha mau đến,xin Cha cho chúng con ngàynàocó lương thực ngàyấy; “Father, may your name be held holy, your kingdom come; give us each day our daily bread,

  7. xinthatộicho chúng con, vìchính chúng con cũng tha chomọi người mắclỗivới chúng con, vàxin đừngđể chúng con sa chước cám dỗ.” and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive each one who is in debt to us. And do not put us to the test.”’

  9. Suppose one of you has a friend and goes to him in the middle of the night to say “Aitrong anhem cómộtngười bạn,vànửa đêm đến nhàngười bạnấymànói:

  10. “My friend, lend me three loaves, because a friend of mine on his travels has just arrived at my house and I have nothing to offer him”; “ Bạnơi, cho tôi vay ba cáibánh, vì tôi có anh bạn lỡđường ghé lại nhà, và tôi không có gìchoanh ta ăn cả”,

  11. màngười kiatừtrongnhàlạiđáp: 'Xinanhđừng quấy rầy tôi, cửa đã đóngrồi, các cháulạingủcùnggiườngvớitôi, tôi không thể dậy lấy bánh cho anh được'. and the man answers from inside the house, “Do not bother me. The door is bolted now, and my children and I are in bed; I cannot get up to give it to you

  12. Thầynóichoanhembiết, I tell you,

  13. dẫungười kiakhông dậyđểchongười nàyvì tình bạn, thìcũng sẽ dậyđểchongười nàytất cả những gì anh ta cần, vìanhta cứlìrađó. if the man does not get up and give it him for friendship’s sake, persistence will be enough to make him get up and give his friend all he wants.

  14. So I say to you: ThếnênThầybảoanhem:

  15. Ask, and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. For the one who asks always receives; the one who searches always finds; the one who knocks will always have the door opened to him. anhemcứxinthìsẽđược, cứtìmthìsẽthấy, cứgõcửathìsẽmởcho. Vìhễaixinthìnhậnđược, aitìmthìthấy, aigõcửathìsẽmởcho.

  16. What father among you would hand his son a stone when he asked for bread? Or hand him a snake instead of a fish? Ai tronganhemlàmộtngười cha, màkhi con xinbánh, thìlạilấyđámàchonó? Hoặcnóxincámàlạichonó con rắn ?

  17. Hay nó xin quả trứng,màlại cho nó con bọ cạp ư ? Or hand him a scorpion if he asked for an egg?

  18. If you then, who are evil, know how to give your children what is good, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!’ Vậy nếu anhemvốnlà những kẻ xấumàcòn biết cho con cái mình của tốtlành, phương chi Cha trên trời lạikhôngban Thánh Thần cho những kẻ kêuxin Ngườisao ?".
