  1. 2014 DIAZ: NON PULIRE QUESTO SANGUE DIAZ: DON’T CLEAN UP THIS BLOOD A film inspired by the events that took place in Genoa during the G8 in 2001, when 300 police officers and 70 special agents raided the Diaz school looking for demonstrators. Inside the school were 90 activists, mostly students from around Europe along with a handful of foreign reporters. As the police burst in, the young demonstrators raised their hands in surrender. Undeterred and unmoved, the police unleashed a calculated frenzy of violence. “The most serious suspension of democratic rights in a Western country since the Second World War” – Amnesty International. He was a magazine film critic before becoming a director. Daniele won two Donatello awards-best new director for Velocitàmassimain 2003 and best documentary for Il mio paesein 2007. He directed La Nave Dolce shown at last year’s Festival. Claudio Santamariawas born in 1974 in Rome. He has more than 25 films to his credit, but is best known for his role of the terrorist in 007 –Casino Royal. He received the Nastri d’Argento best actor award for RomanzoCriminale. He appeared in Crialese’sTerraferma shown last year at our Festival. Elio Germano wasborn in Rome in 1980. He debuted at age 12 in the Castellano e PipoloPipolo's movie Ci hairottopapà (1992). Seven years later, he played in Carlo Vanzina’sIl cielo in una stanza, which launched Germano as one of the most popular Italian actors. Renato Scarpahas been in more than 85 films since 1969. He has worked with major directors such as the Taviani brothers, Comencini and Bellocchio. Nominated for a Donatello in HabemusPapam, he stars in two of the Festival’s films this year, Diaz and Viva La Libertá.
