  3. Quick Partner Interview: • Why do you think this painting represents Manifest Destiny? • What parts of the painting show Americans “expanding out west” or making progress? • How does this painting illustrate the concept of the “spirit of the West” shown in the movie of Rango?

Today, you and 3 other team members will teach the class: • Why people wanted to go west/to the U.S.? • Who went west/to the U.S. ? • What it was like traveling to the West? • What it was like living in the West? -Read the book at your station (take turns: youngest person goes first this time). -on your poster, create a graphic organizer/diagram that will show this info. and make it easy for you to present it -short quiz to follow
