  3. Essential Question • Why do we have fall , winter, spring, and summer ? • List the four seasons ? • What are the characteristics of each season ? • What sort of clothing would you wear in those seasons?

  4. Learning Objectives • I want the students to understand why seasons occur ? • I want the students to learn characteristics of the four seasons ? • I want the students to fulfill the science TEKS for their grade level ?

  5. Learning Objectives Contd. • Evaluation - I want the students to post on the discussion board for Wiki . • Evaluation – I also want the students to draw a picture of their favorite season and write and essay stating Why ? • I want the children to explore and answer questions about themselves and the world around them as introduced in my educational philosophy statement ?

  6. State Standards - TEKS • §112.2. Science, Kindergarten. • (5)  Science concepts. The student knows that organisms, objects, and events have properties and patterns. The student is expected to: • (A)  describe properties of objects and characteristics of organisms; • (B)  observe and identify patterns including seasons, growth, and day and night and predict what happens next; and • (C)  recognize and copy patterns seen in charts and graphs.

  7. Technology State Standard - ISTE • 1. Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity • Teachers use their knowledge of subject matter, teaching and learning, and technology to facilitate experiences that advance student • learning, creativity, and innovation in both face-to-face and virtual environments. Teachers: • a. promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness • b. engage students in exploring real-world issues and solving authentic problems using digital tools and resources • c. promote student reflection using collaborative tools to reveal and clarify students’ conceptual understanding and thinking, planning, • and creative processes • d. model collaborative knowledge construction by engaging in learning with students, colleagues, and others in face-to-face and virtual • environments

  8. Assesment Tool • Post a discussion on Wiki board • Draw a picture of your favorite season • Be able to place the weather with the months.

  9. The evaluation and reflection process • I would evaluate my teaching method by seeing how many students have mastered the unit plan we discussed by the scores on their hw. assignments.
